Savior of Senia

Release notes & version history

Senia still stands. The changelog grows.

v1.5.1

2026-03-08 Current
⚔️ Chronicle & Progression
  • 500 AP system — total achievement points restructured to a 500 AP cap across all categories.
  • Eleven run milestones — 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 150, 200, 300, 400, and 500 runs completed. The milestone bar and chip display keeps early players hooked from run one.
  • Eight AP status tiers — Recruit of Senia through Eternal Guardian, scaling to 498 AP.
  • Run Legacy and time achievements (days of week, calendar days, months) now display as a single progress bar with chip badges instead of one row per milestone.
🏠 Home Screen
  • Glory Rank section — your AP rank now sits at the top of the rank card under a ✦ GLORY RANK ✦ divider, with a glowing colored dot beside the rank name.
  • Glory Rank label at top, Gold Rank at bottom — AP progress is shown first; treasury and copper rank sit below the ✦ GOLD RANK ✦ divider.
  • Senia-lore Gold Rank names — Karma Seeker → Cory's Favourite, Laurel Hunter → Ley Touched, Fractal Delver → Shadow Walker, Ecto Collector → The Undaunted, Legendary Aspirant → Eternal Blade.
🗺️ Map & Combat
  • Retreat to Senia — a subtle retreat button on the map screen lets you abandon a run early. Your copper is still banked.
  • Flee from boss — during a boss fight you can cut and run. A 10% copper penalty applies.
  • Boss HP bar — boss health is now shown as a red progress bar instead of dots.
  • Encumbered panel — when a loot drop would overfill your pack the map screen shows a blocking panel letting you sell a pack item or sell the overflow drop to make room.
  • Chance encounter boss selection — instead of a random pick, you now choose which lieutenant to face from the bosses you've previously defeated.
🛡️ Armor
  • Armor tab in Cory's shop — all six shop-tier armor pieces are now permanently available in a dedicated Armor tab. No longer hidden behind the rotation.
  • Armor collapsible header — the home screen armor section uses colored slot-letter circles (matching the home strip) instead of item icons.
  • Armor drop rate for chance encounters unified at 12% (matching standard runs).

v1.5.0

☁️ Cloud Save
  • Cloud save system — your progress now syncs to Cloudflare's edge network. No account required.
  • Save codes take the form XXX-XXX-YYY-PPPP — a unique address, a checksum, and your personal 4-character PIN. The PIN never leaves your device unencrypted.
  • Auto-sync — your save is pushed to the cloud automatically after every run ends.
  • Save Card — download a PNG of your full save code to store offline. Available immediately after creation and from the Cloud Save panel on the home screen (PIN required).
  • Cloud saves expire after 180 days of inactivity and are deleted automatically. Playing the game resets the timer.
  • Deleting your save (via the Reset panel) also removes the cloud copy if you enter your PIN to confirm.
First-Run Wizard
  • New players are greeted with a welcome wizard — choose your hero name, set a cloud save PIN, and receive your save code before your first run.
  • Returning players with no hero set see New Game and Restore Game options instead of a blank screen.
  • The Restore flow validates the code format and confirms existence before prompting for the PIN.
Returning Hero Achievements
  • Creature of Habit (7 AP) — visit Cory's shop on every day of the week.
  • Every Day Is a Battle (31 AP) — visit on all 31 calendar days of the month.
  • Senia Through Every Season (12 AP) — visit in every month of the year.
  • Visit dates are tracked in your save and persist across devices via cloud sync.
Shop & Economy
  • Shop rotation — four rotating slots refresh each visit alongside the fixed Iron Ration and Health Potion. Rotating items are highlighted in the shop.
  • Sell gear to Cory — unwanted gear from your pack or bank can be sold back for copper.
  • New consumables — Revitalizing Tonic (+6 HP), Senian Hardtack (+3 HP), Field Bandage (restore to half health).
  • New gear items — Iron Heart Charm (+1 max HP), Merchant's Mark (+1% copper/run), Lucky Charm (+5% copper + once-per-run luck trigger).
  • Cory's return dialogue is now context-aware — same day, 3 days, 7 days, and 30+ day absences each get unique lines.

v1.3.0

2026-03-07
Chronicle & Achievement System
  • New Chronicle panel accessible from the home screen — a complete record of your journey through Senia.
  • Run Legacy extended to 50 runs — five milestones: 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50 runs completed (22 AP total). The 50-run achievement is titled "Senia Stands Because of You."
  • 210 Achievement Points across six categories: Run Legacy, Boss Encounters, First Victories, Class Mastery, Hero Banners, and Cory's Investment.
  • Seven AP status tiers — Recruit of Senia through Legendary Hero — tracked with a live progress bar on the home screen.
  • Class Mastery grid — 6 enemies × 6 classes = 36 achievements. Each cell shows your win count. Boss names stay hidden until you've met them.
  • Letters from Senzall — all 13 letters are now listed in the Chronicle with lock/unlock state. Previously only available at home screen if unlocked.
  • Boss encounter and win/loss records are now tracked per class and stored in your save code.
  • Consumable purchase counts are tracked (1 AP per purchase, max 10 per type) — buy from Cory to accumulate supply AP over time.
Chance Encounter
  • Once you have met all three main lieutenants, a new Chance Encounter button appears on the home screen.
  • Pick your class — you're dropped straight into a 1v1 fight against a random lieutenant. No map, no rooms. Just the fight.
  • Rewards are halved. Win/loss records are not tracked for achievements. Shop purchases during the session still count for AP.
  • Designed for class practice, chasing a rematch, or a quick 5-minute session.
Balance & Fixes
  • First lieutenant HP increased — slightly tougher than before. Buying gear before a run is the recommended mitigation for fragile classes.
  • Letter ordering fixed — Senzall's letters now always arrive in the correct narrative sequence, even when the first boss is defeated very early. Previously, the third letter could appear before the second.
  • Save code warning — the home screen save code section now includes a clear note that this game has no account system and browser data loss means progress loss. The code is your only backup.

v1.2.0

2026-03-06
Hero Banners & Permanent Progression
  • Seven Hero Banners added to Cory's shop — permanent stat upgrades purchased with gold that carry into every run from that point forward.
  • Banners unlock progressively as you defeat bosses. Early banners are always available. Later ones require proof of achievement.
  • The profession selection screen now previews your combined banner + stash bonuses under each class card.
Dynamic Shop Pricing
  • Cory raises his prices based on how much gold you're holding. The more gold, the higher the markup — up to 4×.
  • Spending gold on banners lowers your price tier. Hoarding gold makes consumables more expensive. Cory calls it "market forces." It is not market forces.
  • Base consumable prices increased substantially to reflect the game's economy (iron ration 8c, health potion 15c, death token 60c).
Cory's Hero Tales
  • Each time you open Cory's shop, he shares a short story about a past adventurer — victories, unfortunate deaths, and a few tactical retreats of suspicious convenience.
  • 20 tales in the pool. Cory rotates them.
Other Changes
  • Consumables can now be used during boss fights via a dedicated action option.
  • 35 rotating home screen taglines featuring all major characters.
  • Save codes now include banner data and are backwards compatible with v1.0.0 codes.
  • Adventurer name is now prominently displayed on the home screen with a random name generator.

v1.0.0

The gates of Senia open

The full game, beta status. Six classes, six map layouts, a full roster of room encounters, a lore system, a meta-progression economy, and a boss lineup with escalating difficulty. A story that unfolds through letters, journal fragments, and overheard rumors.

What shipped
  • Six professions — Guardian, Warrior, Thief, Ranger, Elementalist, Necromancer. Each with a distinct stat profile, starting HP, and starting item.
  • D20 roll system — four outcomes per roll (Failure, Partial Success, Success, Critical). Natural 1 always fails. Natural 20 always crits.
  • Procedural maps — 6 layout types, 4 non-boss rooms per run, room types assigned randomly from a weighted pool.
  • 21 room templates — combat, event, hazard, and treasure rooms with full narrative text, outcomes per roll result, and Cory commentary.
  • Boss encounters — multi-phase boss fights with escalating HP and phase-specific narratives. Difficulty scales with total bosses defeated.
  • Loot system — gear (stat bonuses), relics (passive effects), consumables (one-use items), and vault keys (upgrade treasure room rolls).
  • Meta-progression — copper, silver, and gold currency. Auto-conversion between tiers. Lifetime copper determines your adventurer rank.
  • Cory's Shop — buy consumables and gear between runs. Items go to your stash and appear at the start of the next run.
  • Senzall's Letters — 13 letters that unlock based on runs completed and bosses defeated. An off-screen correspondent tracking the war from the outside.
  • Lore fragments — journal pages written by Cory, overheard rumors, character cameos in event and hazard rooms.
  • Save codes — Base64-encoded save state. Copy it to keep your progress. Paste it to restore on any device.
  • Animated D20 — dice roll animation before every outcome. Skippable after the first time you've seen it.
