The Tavern

Shared Economy

All three Tavern games share the same coin purse. Win coins at Blackjack, spend them at the Slots, build them back up at Poker. Your balance carries across all three games and persists between sessions.

You start with 100 coins. If you go bankrupt (reach 0 coins), the Innkeeper takes pity and resets your purse back to 100 coins so you can keep playing. There is no penalty for going broke — just a fresh start.

The Basics

Beat the Innkeeper by getting closer to 21 without going over. Face cards are worth 10, and Aces count as 1 or 11 — whichever benefits your hand.

Hit to draw another card. Stand to hold your current hand. Double Down to double your bet and draw exactly one more card. Split if you have a matching pair to play two separate hands.

House Rules

• Dealer stands on 17. The Innkeeper always stands on all 17s, including soft 17 (Ace + 6).
• Blackjack pays 3:2. A natural 21 (Ace + face card or 10) pays 1.5 times your bet.
• Splitting. You may split any matching pair into two separate hands. Each hand receives one additional card. Split Aces receive only one card each.
• Surrender. You may surrender your hand after the initial deal and recover half your bet. Not available after hitting or splitting.
• Double Down. Available on any two-card hand. Doubles your wager and draws exactly one more card.
• Deck reshuffles at 75% penetration.

Deck Configuration

Choose from 1, 2, 6, or 8 decks. Different deck counts change the house edge and the effectiveness of card counting strategies. The Tavern Ledger tracks your performance per configuration so you can find your sweet spot.

• Tap Hit to draw a card
• Tap Stand to hold your hand
• Tap Double to double down (doubles bet, draws one card)
• Tap Split when you have a pair to play two hands
• Tap Surrender to forfeit and recover half your bet
• Tap the deck count indicator to change deck configuration
• Tap Stats to view your session statistics and the Tavern Ledger

Strategy

• Always stand on 17 or higher. The math is clear — hitting on 17+ loses more often than it wins.
• Double down on 11. With a total of 11, you have the best chance of hitting 21 with a single card.
• Never take insurance. Insurance is a sucker bet with a high house edge regardless of deck count.
• Always split Aces and 8s. Two hands starting with Ace or 8 are far stronger than a single hand of 12 or 16.
• Never split 10s or 5s. A pair of 10s is already 20 — one of the strongest hands. A pair of 5s gives you 10, which is a great double-down opportunity.
• Use the Tavern Ledger. It tracks your win rate per deck count. Use it to find your best configuration and refine your strategy over time.

The Basics

Place your wager from 1 to 25 coins. You are dealt 5 cards face-up. Tap any card to hold it, then tap Draw to replace the unheld cards. Your final hand is evaluated against the payout table.
