The Basics

Guess the 5-letter word in 6 tries. Type a valid word and press Enter to submit your guess. After each guess, the tiles change color to show how close you are.

Color Clues

• Gold — Correct letter in the correct position
• Purple — Correct letter, but in the wrong position
• Gray — Letter is not in the word at all

Game Modes

Daily Puzzle: One puzzle per day, the same for everyone. Your streak tracks consecutive Daily solves.

Free Play: Unlimited puzzles anytime. Practice and improve without waiting for tomorrow's word.

A Hint button is available to reveal one letter if you get stuck.

• Type letters on the keyboard to fill in your guess
• Press Enter to submit your guess
• Press Backspace to delete the last letter
• Toggle between Daily and Free Play modes
• Tap Stats to see your guess distribution and streak history

• Start with common letters. Words like CRANE or STARE use frequently occurring letters and give you the most information on your first guess.
• Move purple letters. Purple means the letter is in the word but needs to be in a different position. Make sure your next guess places it somewhere new.
• Watch the keyboard. Pay attention to which letters are grayed out on the on-screen keyboard. They are eliminated from the answer and should not be guessed again.
• Protect your streak. Your streak tracks consecutive Daily solves. Use Free Play to warm up before attempting the Daily puzzle.
