How to Play

The Basics

Place your wager from 1 to 25 coins. You are dealt 5 cards face-up. Tap any card to hold it, then tap Draw to replace the unheld cards. Your final hand is evaluated against the payout table below.

What to Hold

Any paying hand (Jacks or Better and up). If you already have a winning hand, hold it unless you have 4 cards to a Royal Flush or Straight Flush. A guaranteed payout is almost always better than a gamble.
A pair of Jacks or better. A high pair guarantees at least a 1x return on your wager. Never break it chasing something speculative.
4 cards to a Flush. You have roughly a 1-in-5 chance of completing a Flush (6x payout). Always hold four suited cards.
4 cards to an open-ended Straight. With 8 possible cards completing your Straight (4x payout), the odds are about 1-in-6. Worth the draw.
3 cards to a Royal Flush. Even with two cards to draw, the potential 250x payout makes this a strong speculative hold.
A low pair (below Jacks). A low pair does not pay on its own, but keeping it gives you a shot at Two Pair, Three of a Kind, or even a Full House. Usually better than drawing five new cards.

What to Discard

Break a low pair if you also have 4 to a Flush or Straight. The guaranteed draw to a higher-paying hand outweighs the low pair's potential.
Discard all five if you have nothing. No pair, no draw, no high cards? Discard everything and hope for the best. It happens, and it is the correct play.
Never hold a kicker. If you have a pair of Kings plus a random Ace, do not hold the Ace. Hold only the pair and draw three fresh cards for maximum chances at Three of a Kind or better.

Bet 1, get Two Pair — win 2 coins (2x return)
Bet 5, get Two Pair — win 10 coins
Bet 5, get Full House — win 45 coins
Bet 10, get Flush — win 60 coins
Bet 25, get Royal Flush — win 6,250 coins (the maximum single-hand payout)

Jacks or Better vs. Low Pair

The critical threshold in video poker is Jacks or Better. A pair of Jacks, Queens, Kings, or Aces pays 1x your wager — you get your bet back. Any pair below Jacks (tens, nines, etc.) pays nothing on its own. This is why a high pair is always worth holding, while a low pair is a stepping stone you hope to upgrade through the draw.

Understanding this distinction is the foundation of good video poker strategy. High pairs are guaranteed money. Low pairs are investments with no guaranteed return — but they still beat an empty hand.
